Change the Inappropriate Colours and Materials in the Fitzroy Gardens Playground Design
Kings Cross, Sydney

URGENT! SIGN OUR PETITION!

Please sign our petition to change the ugly and inappropriate colours and materials to be used in the makeover of the Fitzroy Gardens Playground and surrounds.

Currently the colours are to be stark white, the edges hard and sharp and the materials a form of concrete. For example, take a look at Council's picture (below) of the raised planters that it plans to build beside the playground.

We are asking Council to use colours and materials that are sympathetic to the look and feel of the rest of the Fitzroy Gardens, in which the colours are earthen, the edges are soft and naturalistic, and the materials are a unique brick (including convict-made bricks) and tiles.

Please click here to visit our petition page. (It will only take you 1-2 minutes to sign -- but do it NOW, as Council could well send out the the current plans for tender at any time and then it will be too late.)

White colours and hard edges in revised Fitzroy Playground design (image)

White, sharp-edged, minimalist design... totally unsympathetic to the green and earthen colours and soft edged, naturalistic designs of the rest of the Fitzroy Gardens.

Stop this eyesore from happening. Sign our Petition to ask Council to change these inappropriate colours and materials.
